Status: The member enjoys all the respect and recognition of being associated with a body such as the SAIMC.

Self-development and education: Through the multitude of Institute functions, from branch meetings to exhibitions, the member has the invaluable opportunity to develop both technical knowledge and understanding of applications. Expert know-how and practical advice are available at all these functions and are shared without regard for competitive barriers.

Through its affiliation to the Assocation of Scientific and Technical Societies (ASTS): SAIMC members can register with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)and will benefit from reduced renewal fees.
